Tamang Women

तामाङ महिलाको पहिचान  केथरिन मार्च अमेरिकाको कोर्नेल विश्वविद्यालयमा एन्थ्रोपोलोजीको प्रोफेसर हुनुहुन्छ । नियमित सेवाबाट अवकाश पछि उहाँ हाल यही विश्वविद्यालयमा ईमेरिटस प्रोफेसर रहनु भएको छ। उहाँको अनुसन्धानको मुख्य विषय नेपालमा तामाङ महिला रहेको थियो । उहाँको अध्ययन अनुसन्धानको क्षेत्र एसियाको साहित्य , धर्म र संस्कृति रहेको छ। लैङ्गिक अध्ययन पनि उहाँको प्रमुख अध्ययन अनुसन्धान भित्र पर्दछ। केथरिन मार्च 10- 12 वर्ष अघि गान्तोकमा आयोजित एक अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय कार्यक्रममा आउनु भएको थियो उहाँको पति डेविड होमबर्गशसित। उहाँसित छोटो परिचय भएको थियो मेरो ।  त्यतिबेला उहाँ तामाङ वस्त्र स्यामा र ग्या मा नै लगाउनु भएको थियो । हालै उहाँले नेपालको जनजाति महासघंले आयोजना गरेको भरचुल कार्यक्रममा नेपाली भाषामा वार्ता दिनु भएको थियो जो उहाँले सामाजिक सञ्जालमा साझा गर्नु भएको थियो । उहाँको यो वार्ता नारीवाद, जनजातिको अध्ययनको दृष्टिबाट अत्यन्तै महत्त्वपूर्ण लाग्यो । यो वार्तामा उहाँ भन्नुहुन्छ पारम्परिक तामाङ समाज पितृ समाज भएतापनि पितृसत्तात्मक समाज होइन । महिला समस्या भनेको पितृसत्ता हो। यसबाट ना...

      Fragrance of himalayan poems            Chandra Gurung is a poet of repute in Nepal. He is also a translator and has translated many poems from different languages into nepali language. This present anthology of poem are his nepali poems translated into english language by an ace translator Mahesh Poudyal. Remika Thapa's Farak Baato

 Two novels of  Puspa Rai                         Pempa Tamang   “Farak Baato”  or “Different Road”  is the title of the critical  book  written by Dr. Remika Thapa. As the title suggests Remika highlights the alternative  point of view proposed by Ms Puspa Rai in her two fictional works namely “Bholiko Pratikshya” or “Waiting for Tomorrow” and “Madhyantar” or “Interval”. Dr. Remika maintains that Bholiko Pratikshya is the first feminist novel in Indian Nepali Language and consequently Puspa Rai has become the first feminist novelist  in Indian Nepali writings.   The two novels can be called duology as the second novel follows the theme of earlier one.
